Park's Seafood
Riverside Restaurant

Park’s Seafood Restaurant has been a family-owned business since first opening its doors in 1956 as Park’s Fish Market. It was started by James Howard Park, Sr. The current owner, Jim Park, worked many jobs at the market. In 1976, Jim Park, along with his wife, JoAnn, opened Park’s Seafood Restaurant next door to the fish market. It was a natural location, considering all the fresh fish needed to meet the demands of the restaurant as well as those wanting to bring fish home.

One of the things I really liked about Park’s is that it has remained a family owned and operated business. You’ll be sure to see Jim Park himself six or seven nights a week greeting his customers. Jolynn Park Watkins, the Park’s daughter, is the general manager who also greets the customers, many of them regulars since the restaurant opened its doors. It’s also worthy to note that some of the employees have been at Park’s since the beginning, too. Add the fact that the seafood at Park’s is excellent, and it is easy to see why this fine restaurant has been on Halifax magazine’s monthly award for Culinary Excellence.

On my last visit with a party of four, I had shrimp boiled in beer ($11.95) - you can get them hot or cold. Excellent. My wife had the scallop florentine ($13.45). These broiled scallops are topped with spinach hollandaise sauce. If you like scallops, you’ll love Park’s. One of our dinner companions had grouper ($14.95), which was broiled right to his taste. You can also get this popular fish fried or grilled to order. Our other guest had the fresh-water catfish ($9.45), lightly battered in Park’s special corn meal and fried.

The menu at Park’s is varied and extensive. You can find wonderful Danish Lobster tails, soft shelled crabs, and even exotic fried gator tail dinner ($9.95). All the entrees include smoked mullet dip with crackers, fish chowder-Manhattan style, choice of potato, rice or vegetables, salad or cole slaw, and hush puppies or rolls.

If seafood doesn't’t grab you, there is plenty of beef on the menu as well as chicken and baby back ribs. I don't think you’ll leave Park’s feeling hungry, and I’m sure you will be completely satisfied.

After you have enjoyed your dinner, be sure to leave room for their key lime or apple pie. The restaurant is noted for it.

Park’s has a full service lounge where you can enjoy your favorite cocktail or appetizer. The restaurant is open six days a week for diner only. Park's is open Tuesday through Sunday at 4:00 PM. Park’s doesn't’t take reservations but for a party of 8

If you own a computer, you can check out the full menu by logging in at http://www.parksseafood.com. The restaurant is located at 1112 Riverside Drive in Holly Hill Florida just north of LPGA Blvd. Have a craving for seafood? Why think about it?
